Gregg Barrios is a San Antonio-based playwright who has written a landmark play titled “Rancho Pancho.” At the heart of the play is the explosive revelation that the character of Stanley Kowalski in the classic American drama “A Streetcar Named Desire,” was based on author Tennessee William’s unacknowledged Mexican American lover, Pancho Rodríguez. Gregg explained to Latinopia how he discovered this fact which propels his play and has set Tennessee Williams scholarship on its head.
