BURUNDANGA BORICUA 2.19.26 BENITO: DE PUERTO RICO CON AMOR

De Puerto Rico con amor: Benito

Desde que apareció la noticia meses atrás que Benito Antonio (Bad Bunny) Martinez Ocasio estaría a cargo del entretenimiento de mitad de juego y que el espectáculo se llevaría a cabo en español, se formó un a controversia que lleva meses en titulares, visto el ambiente que prevalece en torno a la migración y la relacion con las naciones del continente.

Y entonces llega Benito y monta un espectáculo que es la contradicción misma de los prejuicios excluyentes. Trece minutos verdaderamente repletos, con una abundancia de contenido y significado que se crece cada vez que uno retorna en busca de detalles. Tanto en su valor de produccion como en la cantidad de símbolos y estampas, el espectáculo fue esplendido, una síntesis de historia y costumbres, montada con la sonoridad que le dan los ritmos de esta tierra.

Suelo pensar que el Archipiélago Boricua es para el globo un chispito en el mar y para los propietarios, un pelo el el lomo de un camello. De la pequeñez geográfica y menor relevancia politica ganamos visibilidad global con la Bancarrota de 2016, nada que se acerque a Benito en el Super Bowl y su tribu to a la puertorriqueñidad. Los 13 minutos reverberaron por todo el mundo (récord de 135 millones de audiencia) y pusieron a Puerto Rico en el centro, con nuestro idioma y costumbres. Y una musica que pone al mundo a bailar.

La primera impresion fue el volumen de la producción. Llenar un campo de football con una cultura en 15 minutos no deja de ser una proeza de planificación y ensamblaje, que generó tarea para una inmensa cantidad de gente en y fuera de escena. Coordinar una empresa de esa naturaleza no deja de ser hazaña, vista la fluidez con que se movió el espectáculo. El talento del muchacho no se limita a su lírica y ejecución en escena, Benito ha logrado el poder de convocatoria para producir en espectáculo de esta categoria, que corrió impecable en sus hombros. Sin renunciar a la sencillez campechana que lo distingue.

La secuencia comienza con una afirmación contundente: Que bueno es ser latino! Lo subsiguiente es la evidencia pues pone en pantalla la exuberancia de lo que somos. Una celebracion que se mueve entre la vida y la historia, con una serie de estampas de nuestra cultura. El cañaveral, la casa, la calle, el barrio, la boda con Lady Gaga, el cuatro con Ricky Martin. Una variación de ritmos que van del bolero al regreton, sin obviar la sonora salsa y emotiva balada. Con un cierre carnavalesco de solidaridad entre las naciones en que dijeron presente celebridades latinas como Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba,  Karol G, Cardi B  y Young Miko que bailaron en apoyo sin destaque.

Bad Bunny viene de cuando Benito era niño, que solía usar un disfraz de conejo para Halloween. En una fiesta, su abuela lo llamó “bad bunny” por travieso. La travesura ha si do el foco de su identidad desde sus inicios, cuando irrumpe en el medio musical con una vulgaridad indiscutible y un simpático desparpajo que sedujo al mundo. Además de poeta fecundo, Benito tiene un poderoso don de gente, un sentido irreverente de humor, ojo para el talento y un esquema de mercadeo que ha sido tema de cursos universitarios.

Su evolución como artista refleja un maduración, apreciable en el modo en que su travesura se ha ido modulando, calibrando hasta donde llegar en el juego de provocación cafronda. Una figura que ha crecido por sus meritos para llegar a la cúspide del entretenimiento.

En el Super Bowl, Benito se encaramo en la cumbre y formo un bembé, llevando un mensaje de diversidad e inclusión. No es nuevo que el amor puede mǎs que el odio y lamentable que hoy resulte tan resonate. Bad Bunny lo hizo a ritmo de regreton y perreo. La audiencia rompió record de todos los tiempos. Las reacciones no se han hecho esperar, desde el POTUS hasta legisladores, artistas y comentaristas. Todo el mundo ha puesto sus dos centavos y los elogios llegan de todas partes.

Un asunto queda claro: Benito es un fenómeno y su presentación en el Super Bowl un evento memorable. Como Boricua siento un inmenso orgullo y satisfacción que uno de los nuestros se levante en su estatura, que haga patente su amor patrio, reclamo de soberanía y humanidad. Bad Bunny is a Good Bunny. Eh, eh! Gracias Benito.
