Puerto Rico continues in a state of crisis. A month after Hurricane María’s destruction, eighty percent of the island is still without power and continues to be short on water. At least 51 people have died. It is also clear that rebuilding efforts will take months if not years.
Latinopia’s regular contributors José M. Umpierre and José Muratti Toro have survived the hurricane and Umpierre continues to inform with his regular reports (see Huracan 1 and 2). We at Latinopia are particularly concerned about the children of Puerto Rico and thus are posting this call for donations to the UNICEF hurricane relief effort.
We urge you to contribute to the Hurricane relief effort on the island. 90% of contributions to the UNICEF fund will go directly to helping children.
