This month music chronicler Mark Guerrero visits with Arturo “Rooster” Perez. He was one of three drummers that played with Redbone during the peak of the recording success in the ’70s. Mark interviews Arturo about his time with Redbone and then Arturo plays and talk about various tracks he recorded with them. He also played extensively with the Righteous Brothers. Also featured on the show are selections from Arturo’s solo album he made in 2002, which showed that he’s an excellent singer and songwriter. Those recordings are played and discussed. Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers wrote one of the songs on Arturo’s album and sang on it.
