In this week’s Chicano Music Chronicles, Mark Guerrero interviews legendary big band leader and musician DonTosti. Tosti was part of the pre-Rock and Roll big band generation. He started his music career at age 19 with the celebrated Jack Teagarden band and later played with such musicians as Les Brown and Tommy Dorsey. In the 1950s Don Tosti has his own band and had a hit with “Pachuco Boogie.” Tosti died in 2004 at the age of 81 and our thanks to Mark Guerrero for having the foresight to land this interview back in 1999.
