UTOPIAS DESCIFRADAS con JOSÉ MURATTI 4.04.16 “DUERMES”

April 4, 2016 by Tia Tenopia

Duermes*

Links-Birds4_180y yo velo tus sueños.

Vuelo en ellos,

las yemas de mis dedos

sobre la punta de tus alas,

el batir de nuestros brazos

como aspas de un molino

a prueba de lanzas y corduras;

Jose-Muratti-photo1_200nuestros cuerpos, una quimera:

mitad flama, mitad viento;

mitad lluvia, mitad trueno;

mitad ave, mitad cielo.

In your dreams

Links-Birds4_180I am the witness

of your dreams.

I fly within them,

my fingerprints softly

on the tips of your wings;

our arms, not unlike

blades of a windmill,

sway impervious

to spears and to sanity;

Jose-Muratti-photo1_200our bodies now a chimera:

half flame, half wind,

half rain, half thunder,

half bird, half sky.

October 24, 2026 By wpengine

There are moments when history seems to awaken—when something long kept distant finds its way home, carrying with it the breath of ancestors and the weight of memory.  In Mexico City, such a moment has arrived with the return of the Codex Azcatitlan, a treasured Aztec manuscript that has spent nearly two centuries in France.  […]

POLITICAL SALSA Y MÁS with SALOMON BALDENEGRO 10.15.26

October 15, 2026 By wpengine

Where’s the shame? Esos no tienen vergüenza (Those people have no shame). My saintly Nana Petra (she of blessed memory) My Nana would say that of people who were hypocrites, that is, whose actions contradicted their words. Or of people whose behavior was blatantly, knowingly wrong – e.g., starting or spreading hurtful rumors about someone, […]

Jalapeño Irish Soda Bread The sweetness of traditional Irish soda bread ingredients—raisins, buttermilk, some sugar—are richly complimented by jalapeño heat. Here’s a soda bread recipe from Ireland brought to the USA from Galway by Mary Patricia Reilly Murray and later transformed  with her blessing by her daughter, Bobbi Murray, who added jalapeño chile.  A real […]
