Barbara Carrasco is a Southern California artist whose works included oils, prints and murals. In 1981 she was commissioned by the Los Angeles Community Agency to paint a mural which she titled Los Angeles History a Mexican Perspective. Some of the imagery in the mural was censored and before the mural could be destroyed, Carrasco was able to safeguard in storage until 2021 when the Vera Campbell Foundation award a grant mount the mural at the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History.
