Carlos Almaráz was a ground breaking artist and political activist who passed away in 1989. Twenty three years after his passing, Karen Rapp, the premiere curator at the Vincent Price Museum of Art located at East Los Angeles College, mounted a retrospective of the work of Carlos Almaráz with the help of Carlos’ widow, Elsa Flores Almaráz and his best friend, Dan Guerrero. Latinopia was there for the opening night festivities.
