They must step up to the plate.
The following letter was written by Jorge H. Rodríguez to the Los Angeles Times and is reposted on Latinopia with the permission of Mr. Rodríguez.
Dear Editors. I have been a long time LA Times supporter. In the early 60’s I sold the LA Times to help put several of my brothers and sister through Catholic Elementary School in Boyle Heights.
My letter is a reply to Sports Writer Dylan Hernandez’s excellent article on Sunday June 15. I am a life long fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers Blue Crew. I take pride in being a Dodger fan and raising my children on the blue blood of one of Los Angeles’ great sports traditions.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Management is abdicating their moral responsibility by being complicit and remaining silent about the horrific, inhumane raids on LA’s immigrant community, many of which are Dodger fans, by ICE under the Trump Administration’s orders.
Los Angeles Dodgers Administration has made it a point to get the fans in the Chavez Ravine Stadium to adhere to the security and safety protocols of ’See Something, Say Something”, so we can all be safe as we enjoy watching our home team’s baseball game.
Yet the Dodgers management will not adhere to the same safety and security protocols to ensure the well being of part of its fan base. This is a shameful and immoral act on the part of Dodger Management.
They must step up to the plate. VIVA KIKE HERNANDEZ FOR STEPPING UP TO PITCH HIT FOR THE LA’S IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY!!
