Historian Dr. Cynthia Orozco has written a book chronicling the creation of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) arguably the oldest Latino civil rights organization. In her book, No Mexicans, Women or Dogs Allowed, Orozco highlights the importance of the rise of LULAC in 1929. In this Latinopia Plática she talks about the unprecedented violence against Mexicans, including widespread lynchings, during this time.
