Latinopia Plática Remembering August 3, 2019 from Latinopia.com on Vimeo.
On August 3, 2019, a deranged gunman fueled by hatred for Mexicans and Mexican Americans opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas intent on killing as many Mexicans as he could. Many people were wounded and 23 people lost their lives. Maria Natividad, an artist from El Paso responded by helping create a shrine to the fallen victims and it inspired her to produce an original work of art honoring the slain victims. In this Latinopia Plática, she recalls the events on that horrific day.
