Latinopia Plática Update on DACA Dreamers from Latinopia.com on Vimeo.
In 2017, Congress passed the Dreams Act of 2017 which gave protection from deportation to individuals who immigrated to the United States as children. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act (DACA) was suddenly terminated in September of 2017 by the Trump Administration. An appellate court, however, held the termination was illegal. Dr. Armando Vazquez-Ramos of the California Mexico Studies Center gives Latinopia Plática an update on a pending Supreme Court decision which will determine whether the cancellation of the DACA program was legal.
