Alejandro Murguía is a poet and narrative writer who has won the coveted American Book Award twice for his short story collections Southern Front (1990) and This War Called Love (2002). In 2013 he was appointed poet laureate of the city of San Francisco. Latinopia caught up with him in 2010 when he read his poem, “Nineteen Men” at the USC Flor y Canto Literary Festival.
