Hector Tobar is a Pultizer Prize winning journalist and author. In his first novel, “The Tattooed Soldier,” he examines the experience of two Guatemalans immigrants to the United States as they struggle to survive and make a new life for themselves. In his second novel, “The Barbarian Nurseries,” his protagonist is once again an immigrant to the United States but in this novel he examines the culture clash between the immgirants and her well-to-do American employers.
