Jorge Guillen is a poet, artist and activist from Lamont, California. The son of immigrant parents from Michoacan, Mexico, he attended a rally in Bakersfield on August 14, 2013. The rally, part of a national movement, called for comprehensive immigration reform in Congress. Some legislators in Congress, however, argue for what critic shave called “piece meal” reform measures. Jorge read a two-part poem at the rally. The second part of his poem is titled “Peace Meal.”
