Mónica Teresa Ortíz is an Austin-based poet whose 2008 chapbook, “On a Greyhound Straight from the 915,” has won critical acclaim. Her literary inspirations range from Gertrude Stein to Gabriel García Márquez. In September, 2010, she attended the University of Southern California’s Flor y Canto literary enclave in 2010 and read her original poem, “Enlistment Papers.”
