Oscar Zeta Acosta was a civil rights attorney who defended Chicano activists during the heyday of the Chicano Movement. He disappeared in Mexico under mysterious circumstances in the 1970s and has since been declared deceased. Antonio Solís Gómez, co-founder of the Con Safos literary collective, wondered what would have happened if the members of Con Safos had gone in search of Acosta? His new book, The Search for The Brown Buffalo, imagines a fictitious road trip to Mexico by the real life members of Con Safos in search of their enigmatic friend.
