Rubén Funkahuatl Guevara is a multi-talented musician, singer, performer, artist, writer and record producer. In 1972, he collaborated with Frank Zappa and created the celebrated doo wop band Ruben And the Jets. Since then Guevara’s career has spanned producing records, being lead singer of rock bands, being a performance artist, poet and donating his time to support young Latinos in the arts. Here he talks to Latinopia about his most recent project, a memoir titled Confessions of a Radical Chicano Doo Wop Singer.
