Conjunto Aztlán is a San Antonio-based music group with roots in the Chicano civil rights movement of the 1970s. The group is comprised of Juan Tejeda, J.J. Barrera, Clemencia Zapata, José Flores Peregrino and Sonny Lerma. With several albums under their belt, they continue to perform in many Texas venues making them one of the longest lasting Chicano music groups in the country. They allowed Latinopia to visit one of their “garage” rehearsal sessions. The song they are performing is an original composition by band member José Flores Peregrino, “Rosario.”
