On October 12, 2015, the acclaimed El Teatro Campesino performed an outdoor puppet theater play in downtown Los Angeles. Popul Vuh: Heart of Heaven is a creation myth based on the ancient text of the Quiche Maya people. Latinopia asked theater director Kinan Valdez how the play came about.
