This month Mark Guerrero’s guest for Chicano Music Chronicles is the 80s punk rock band, Los Illegals. The group got its start in the L.A. punk rock scene with their 1981 album “Internal Exiles” on A&M Records. They soon became a fixture on the Los Angeles rock scene attracting groups like X and The Blasters to the Eastside. In 1997, Los Illegals recorded an album with Concrete Blonde on Miles Copeland’s Ark 21 label. In 1999, they participated on a CD and documentary called “Searching for Jimi Hendrix,” which also featured tracks by such diverse artists as Los Lobos, Laurie Anderson, Rosanne Cash and Chuck D. Check out Mark’s interview with two members of the group Willie Herrón and Jesus “Chuy” Velo
