Mark Guerrero interviews Benny Lopez, bassist for the legendary East L.A. band, Thee Midniters, in the early to mid-60s. Before being in Thee Midniters he was in Johnny & the Crowns with East L.A. music pioneer Johnny Gamboa. Benny also played with another popular East L.A. band of the 60s, The Prophets. He also re-joined Thee Midniters for another stint in 1969. In the early 2000s, he formed a band called Midnite’s Moon who released a CD. Date of interview: March 29, 2024.
