CÉSAR CHÁVEZ AND AZTEC SCIENCE FICTION!
Orale Latinopians! Welcome to another week of Latinopia. Two great videos this week, in cinema and literature. We visit with acclaimed Chicano Director of Photography and director Rey Villalobos and science fiction author Ernest Hogan.
Rey is an awesomely talented person–he was the director of photography (cinematographer) on such American classic films as “Nine to Five,” “Urban Cowboy,” “A Bronx Tale,” and “American Me.” When César Chávez passed away in 1993, Rey joined other Latinos directors to film the funeral. He recalls the day in this interview. Also this week we explore Latino science fiction! Our author is Ernest Hogan, who is from Irish and Mexican descent and resides in Arizona. He is also an awesome science fiction writer, check out his video talking about this novel, “High Aztech.”
We have a continuation of cartoonist Sergio Hernández’s Arnie and Porfi taking on the fiscal cliff and explaining it to us. Lazaro De La Tierra continues to find out more about himself and the zombie underworld in this week’s Zombie Mex Diaries blog.
Enjoy this week’s videos and blogs!
