What up Latinopia partners! This week we are saddened by the sudden passing of Latina actress Elizabeth Peña. Check out Jesús Treviño’s remembrance of this pioneering Latina actress.
Sal Baldenegro returns with his Political Salsa y Más blog. This week he reports on the effort to have the NFL team The Washington Redskins change their name and mascot and how this national controversy is being taken up by Native Americans in Arizona. This week also marks a celebration at the Santa Paula Museum of Art honoring legendary Chicano artist Gilbert “Magu” Luja,. This week-end an exhibit opened titled “In Search of Magulandia.” In coming week’s Latinopia will showcase this exhibit and the many artists who paid homage to Magu. For now we’re reporting videos about Magu and his work.
