Hola Mijos! Welcome to another week of Latinopia! We open this week with sad news of the passing of one of our literary greats, author Victor Martinez who won the American Book Award in 1996 for his young people’s novel “Parrot in the Oven: Mi Vida.” You can read his obituary at http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/ On the more positive side, we have a wonderful drama written and Directed by high school senior Daniel Rios that will blow you away! It is fiction based on true events going on in Ciudad Juarez. Don’t miss this incredible film! And for all of you Latino filmmakers out there, remember you can have your film posted as a Latinopia Showcase. Just leave your name, the name of your film and your email address her on the Tia Tenopia blog. Also this week we are visiting again with Diane at Cocina Hernandez where we’ll learn how to make chile salsa from dried New Mexico chile pods and then use the salsa to make red chile enchiladas. Enjoy!
