Mis Queridos! On May 1, hundreds of thousands of immigrant workers and supporters will march in cities across the United States to speak up for the rights of immigrant workers. This is a struggle that has a long history and this week we feature a moving documentary on Latinopia Showcase titled “Harvest of Loneliness.” This film, by Dr. Gilbert Gonzalez of UC Irvine, tells the sad story of the 1940s and 1950s Bracero Program. Also this week, we have an interview with Dr. Nicolas Kanellos of Arte Publico Press, the leading publisher of books in English and in Spanish by Latino authors.
