JAROCHO MUSIC, HILLARY CLINTON, THE HOLLYWOOD HOTEL AND ZOMBIE MEX DIARIES THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA.
Your Tia just loves jarocho music and this week we have a terrific new performance by the Oxnard based Conjunto Hueyapan. Founded in 1973 by Fermín Herrera this conjunto group carries on the tradition originated in Veracruz. Be sure to check out this infectious and joyful music! Also this week, Luis Torres returns with Tales of Torres but this week he has opted to share his blog with an admittedly conservative blogger Ben Dejo who opines on Hillary Clinton and her possible run for the US Presidency.
Angela Ortiz returns with her weekly photo. this time a stunning look at the Hollywood Hotel. At a time when Mexican Americans studies programs continue to be under fire, primos Arnie and Porfi look at the issue in cartoonist Sergio Hernández’s Arnie and Porfi cartoon strip. And in this week’s Zombie Mex Diaries Lazaro is confronted by someone he never expected to meet. Check out this plot point in the ongoing saga of the zombie wars.
Enjoy this week on Latinopia!
