MACEO MONTOYA, XOCHITL BERMEJO AND MÓNICA ORTÍZ, NEW LITERARY VOICES, TRUE PATRIOTISM, THE WORLD ON THE VERGE OF SUICIDE AND MORE THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA!
This week we feature three videos that highlight a new generation of Latino authors. Maceo Montoya reads his poem “Ciejo Rojo,” along with his accompanying stunning artwork. Mónica Teresa Ortíz reads her poem “Enlistment Papers” and Xochitl Julisa Bermejo reads “Our Lady of the Water Gallons.” Great literature, great videos. Check them out.
Also this week Sal Baldenegro returns with his Political Salsa y Más blog. In the wake of extremists committing murder under the guise of American patriotism, Sal explores the meaning of true patriotism. Thoughtful and insightful. Sergio Hernández reacts to the horrific headlines this past week with his cartoon commentary, “Is the world on the verge of suicide?” And of course, Angela Ortiz brings us another wonderful original photo in her Photo of the Week series.
Enjoy this week on Latinopia!
