SALVADORAN HIP HOP, BLACK MESA AND NEW BLOGS!
Hola my peeps! Your Tia Tenopia with another week of new videos and blogs on Latinopia on this last week in July. We start with an up and coming Salvadoran American filmmaker, Junior Gonzalez. We previewed a trailer from his documentary “Words of Revolution” a few weeks ago and now we have an interview with him about his efforts to confront the negative stereotypes of the Salvadoran community in the United States. We think you’ll find the vision of this young filmmaker inspiring.
In music, we have a performance by journalist and author Rubén Martínez who is also a talented musician and song writer. Check his performance of an original song “In the Shadows of Black Mesa” at the 2013 Las Cruces Border Book Festival.
Our regular weekly bloggers Angela Ortiz and Sergio Hernández and Lazaro De La Tierra return. Angela’s’s got a new Photo of the Week of Los Angeles at night, Sergio’s Arnie and Porfi cartoon comments on the controversy of the maniaco mayor of San Diego, and in Zombie Mex Diaries Lazaro wonders what will happen next to clan of good guy zombies led by Mr. Nez.
All great stuff on this your go to website for Chicano/Latino culture and the arts.
Enjoy!
