THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: REMEMBERING JOSÉ MONTOYA, CANINE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR AND ANGELA’S PHOTOS!
What up Latinopians. Your Tia Tenopia welcoming you to another week of Latinopia. It was a year ago, on September 25, 2013 that the great poet, artist and community activist José Montoya passed away. José was a powerhouse of talent who influenced generations of poets and artists. This week we remember José with remembrances by his friends and we showcase José reading his poems, “El Louie,” “Pachuco Portfolio,” and speaking on the creation of the legendary Royal Chicano Air Force. We miss José but his influence will always be with us.
Also this week, Sergio Hernández brings us another Arnie and Porfi cartoon strip and Angela Ortiz brings us another great photo, this week, “Lovely in the Garden.”
And for those Latinopians in the Los Angeles area, we call your attention to the 7th Annual Student Film Festival sponsored by the Latin American Cinemateca of Los Angeles. held on Sunday, September 28th at the Ray Stark Theater at USC from 3-6 PM. For more info visit:
