THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: SAL BALDENEGRO ON LOS TROVADORES, REMEMBERING ARTURO ROSALES, A TRUMP INAUGURATION AND LATINOPIA HERO VIDEOS.
This week we are saddened by the passing of a great Chicano scholar , educator and civil rights activist, Dr. Francisco Arturo Rosales. We offer a remembrance of Dr. Rosales and also are posting videos featuring the work of this scholar/activist. Also this week, Sal Baldenegro reminds us of the contributions made over the years by Chicano and Mexican trovadors (musicians) who have not only contributed great music but also to the evolution and success of the Chicano civil rights struggle through their music. All of this in the wake of the recent passing of one of the key exponents of Chicano music of the movimiento, Ramón Chunky Sánchez. And with the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump approaching, Sergio Hernández weighs in on what he sees as the true meaning of this inauguration.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia.
