THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: EL ZOCOTROCO ON THE NEW YEAR AND WHAT WE CAN EXPECT, READINGS FROM HUIZACHE- NICOLAI GARCÍA AND JOSEPHINE NERICCIO, THE CON SAFOS LITERARY COLLECTIVE IS ALIVE AND WELL AND SERG HERNANDEZ ON TRUMP’S PICK FOR EDUCATION CHIEF.
Hola Latinopians! This week our regular San Juan blogger José Umpierre (AKA El Zocotroco) does an end of the year look at where we’re at the beginning of a new year and what we may expect. We also visit with authors Nicolai García and Josephine Nericcio as they participate in a recent reading held at the home of acclaimed writer Hector Tobar and his wife Virginia Espino. The readings are part of the launch of the magazine Huizache’s latest issue, check our Readings from Huizache. This week members of the Con Safos literary collective celebrate the publication of a new book written by Maxine Junge in collaboration with the collective. We reprise two videos highlighting the group and their work. And, of course, Serg Hernández weighs in with his political commentary on Trump, this week Trump’s nominee for the office of Department of Education.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia!
