Valdez is a true artistic craftsman and visionary. Don’t miss this!

All of us at Latinopia are thrilled because this week we celebrate the FIFTEEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF LATINOPIA GOING ONLINE. Fifteen years and yes, your Tia Tenopia, has gotten any older–it’s in my genes. Yep, back on March 9, 2010 we started posting our first original videos and blogs available free of charge to anyone in the world! This week, to celebrate the fifteen years, we report one video episode from each of our top-of-the-page menu themes. Under HISTORY from our LATINOPIA EVENT we post a video about the 1970 Chicano Moratorium with incredible footage courtesy of Yolanda Garcia Provost. Under ART we repost a video profile of muralist Sonia Romero speaking about her Los Angeles subway mural, Urban Oasis. Under LITERATURE from our LATINOPIA WORD page, we repost legendary poet and artist José Montoya reading from his classic poem, “El Louie.” Under TEATRO we repost El Teatro Campesino’s play. El Popul Vuh.  And under MUSIC we report the East Los Angeles music group Quetzal, featuring lead singer Martha Gonzalez, singing their original “Migra.” Of course, this is just a sampling of the 750 videos you will find on Latinopia by scrolling down the top menus.

Do enjoy your week on Latinopia and be sure to browse our videos by using the pull down feature on the menus at the top of the homepage banner.
