Hola Latinopians! This week Sal Baldenegro examines whether in this day and age picket lines and public marches are still effective. Check out his considered conclusions in this month’s Political Salsa y Más. And to underscore the importance of how community protests can be effective, check out the video El Rio Golf Course controversy. Also this week, in light of a recent ruling by a recent U.S. Appeals Court ruling that found Puerto Rico’s federally created fiscal oversight board was unconstitutionally appointed, the Association of Puerto Rican Professors has written a letter to the House of Representatives’ Natural Resources and Territorial Affairs Committee and its Chairman, the Hon. Raul Grijalva (D- AZ). This is an important document in the history of the Puerto Rican people.
And lastly, this weekend is the The 38th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio. May 15-19, 2019. If you can’t make it o San Antonio at least check out Juan Tejeda’s Conjunto Aztlán and their original song Rosario.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia.
