The big news this week is the resignation of Ricardo Roselló, Governor of Puerto Rico. In the book, Straight out of Barrio Hollywood, Frank recounts his experiences from a childhood in Tucson’s Barrio Hollywood to his career as a scholar, newscaster and co-founder of the Telemundo news network. An journalistic insider himself, Torres gives us insight into Frank career which mirrors the rise of Latinos in journalism in Los Angeles.
Mark Guerrero returns with his podcast Mark Guerrero’s Chicano Music Chronicles. This month Mark posts his interview with Willie Herrón and Jesus “Chuy” Velo, co-founders of the 70s punk rock band, Los Illegals.
