This week the Latino literary community remembers a giant of Chicano letters, Dr. Rolando Hinojosa. In a special ceremony convened at the Whitliff Collections at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, fellow writers, scholars and fiends of Rolando will convene for a special remembrance ceremony on Sunday, September 25th, 2022. The tribute will include tributes from friends and fellow scholars and a screening of select clips from an lengthy interview conducted with Rolando in 2009 by filmmaker Jesús Treviño. This week Latinopia will showcase select clips from the interview with Rolando, In His Own Words One and In His Ow Words Two. Also we are posting a reading by Rolando Hinojosa of his short story, “The Old Revolutionaries” Not to be missed.
