THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: ALVARO HUERTA ON “THE NATIONALIST BARBARIANS STORMING THE CAPITAL, SAL BALDENEGRO ON “GRATITUDE,” ,” BURUNDANGA BORICUA ON “CRISIS DE LA ESPERANZA,” AND ANGELA ROA SINGS “WE FACE THE STORM.”
What a week this has been with a mob incited by the President of the United States attacking and vandalizing the Capital of the nation. Unheard of, unbelievable and mind-boggling! This week Dr. Alvaro Huerta weighs in on the attack and what must be done in the aftermath in his post, “The White Nationalist Barbarians Storm the Gate(s) of the U.S. Capitol.”
Also this week, Sal Baldenegro returns with his Political Salsa y Más blog, this week taking an unusual look at the off-ignored or taken for granted concept of “gratitude.” As always Sal makes you think about things in ways you didn’t expect.
José Umpierre, el Zocotroco, brings us the second in his essays on the crisis of hope in Puerto Rico and what has brought it on. There’s a lot of statistical information here, but stay with it, he’s building to make a very important point which he will pay off in his third and fourth installments of his thorough and deep look at his country’s history and current condition.
And last but not least, Chilean folksinger Angela Roa brings us, appropriately enough, an original composition titled “We Face the Storm.” Do listen to the lyrics.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia!
