THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: MUSIC, POETRY, AND ART. QUETZAL PERFORMS “CANTO LISO,” JOSE MURATTII ON “AN EXILE’S PAPERS,” AND GASPAR ENRIQUEZ ON ART FROM SEGUNDO BARRIO.
Hola mi gente! We’re back this week with videos on music, poetry and art. The acclaimed Eastside music group Quetzal performs an original piece based on a poem by legendary Cuban poet Nicolas Guillen, “Canto Liso” (smooth Song). Puerto Rican poet José Muratti reads his original poem, “An Exile’s Papers” and El Paso-based artist Gaspar Enriquez speaks about how his art sprang from working with high school students in the El paso barrio of “Segundo Barrio” (Second Ward).
Enjoy your week on Latinopia!
