THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: ALFREDO SANTOS’ PENSAMIENTOS, ALVARO HUERTA’S CRUISING WITH NAYTO, AND DANIEL ACOSTA’S HOMEBOY 1 & 2.
Hola Latinopians! Just when you thought it was safe to put your Irish away, regular blogger Alfredo Santos reminds us of the early history of the Irish in America and how they were discriminated and how that resembles so much what we see with societal views on Mexicanos and other Latinos. Check out this month’s Pensamientos.
Also this month we publish a short story by noted author and urban planner Alvaro Huerta. “Cruising with Nayto” is a short story based on Huerta’s experiences growing up in the Ramona Gardens housing project in East Los Angeles. The article is highlighted with original art by Andrew Huerta, Alvaro’s nephew.
And speaking of homeboy short stories, check out also Daniel Acosta’s Homeboy 1 and Homeboy 2.
Enjoy!
