THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: BOBBI MURRAY TRENCH REPORT, RICARDO ROMO ON SANTA BARRAZA, SANTA BARRAZA’S “NEPANTLA,” AND SANTA BARRAZA IN HER OWN WORDS.
Hola Mi Gente! This week we post an update from the trenches. We have encouraging news about the Trump Administration’s latest assaults on our freedoms. The courts continue to fight back! Check out Bobbi mUrray latest report from the trenches.
Also this is Santa Barraza week on Latinopia. We begin with a Tejano Report from Ricardo Romo on a recent exhibit Frida: The Making of an Icon, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston where some of Santa Barraza’s works are on exhibit. Santa is one of the pioneers of Chicano art and she has continued her trajectory of very stylistic paintings which showcase indigenous themes and historical personages from Chicano/Mexicano history.
Also this week, we report a Latinopia interview with Santa Barraza about the concept of “Neplantla.” And lastly, we post a full interview with Santa Barraza about her art work.
Check it all out at Latinopia!
