THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: ALEJANDRO MORALES LITTLE NATION, LATINOPIA EVENT PROFILE: THE PUERTO RICAN DIASPORA, JOSÉ MURATTI AN EXILE’S PAPERS, AND LOS POCHOS, “PASO DEL NORTE.”
In recent years there has been lots of talk about the Puerto Rican Diaspora. But exactly is it? Check out this week’s Latinopia Event Profile in which we explain it all and especially all the amazing Boricuas who have contributed to our country. And sticking with the theme of unwanted separation from our homeland, we showcase two videos on the diaspora. One is a poem by Puerto Rican poet José Toro Muratti, “An Exile’s Papers.” The other is a classic immigrant border song performed by the Los Angeles-based conjunto group, Los Pochos, “Paso del Norte.”
Also this week we visit with prolific author Alejandro Morales as he explains his literary approach in his collection of short stories, “Little Nation and Other Stories.”
Enjoy your week on Latinopia!
