Hola Latinopians! Your Tia Tenopia here. This week we are delighted that Latinopia founder Jesús Treviño was honored by the East Los Angles Arts Initiative with the Gloria Molina Champion of the Arts Pioneer award for his lifetime of pioneering work in cinema and television. Beginning as a student activist with a super-8 camera, Treviño went on to become a director of documentaries and then nationally televised prime time network dramas as well as his own feature films like Roots of Blood and Seguin. Check out his acceptance speech where he shares his award with other pioneering media activists.
Also this week, Sal Baldenegro’s Political Salsa y Más returns with a look at the separation of church and state and why it is so important to vote in the coming election.
