THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: MARGARET ELYSIA GARCÍA ON HORROR AND LONELINESS, RICARDO ROMO ON LATINO ART CONTRIBUTES TO HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH, THE ART OF JOSÉ LOZANO AND THE MUSIC OF IRENE DÍAZ AND FRIENDS.
A potpourri of culture this week. We begin with author Margaret Elysia García on Horror and Loneliness from her co short story collection, Graft. Longtime blogger Ricardo Romo returns with his Tejano Report. This week he looks at how Latino Art has contributed to the celebration of Hispanic heritage month throughout the United States. Of course he begins with his hometown of San Antonio at the Lady of the Lake University.
This week we also revisit the thoughtful and profound art of the late José Lozano. Hailing from Fullerton, California, José was fixture on the Southern California art scene with numerous exhibitions. He passed on November 21st of 2025 but will be remembered for his sense of humor and passion for his art.
And in music, we repost the music of Irene Díaz and friends filmed at an impromptu jam session in East los Angeles.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia.
