BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANTS – DEMING, NEW MEXICO
IRMA’S RESTAURANT
123 Silver Street
Deming, New Mexico
(575) 544-4580
This is a popular parrilla style restaurant that Irma Martínez started in 2003. The restaurant is warm, very moderately priced, and a local favorite. You’ll find the place usually packed–always a good sign. The service is very friendly and attentive. Though the menu offers the usual Mexican and New Mexican dishes, the speciality here is parilla style steaks.
Latinopia ordered the steak tampiqueno which comes with rice and beans, enchilada and chile relleno as well as slivers of quesadilla and french fries! Quite a meal for any appetite. And it was great! Irma’s has a fine selection of local Deming wine labels including Blue Teal, Plum Loco and St. Clair, all from the Miembres valley.
The restaurant is open seven days a week from 7AM to 8PM.

Located on the main drag in Deming, Pine Street, El Camino Real is a clean, unpretentious neighborhood restaurant started by Eva Lozano in 2004. Menu features traditional Mexican dishes: enchilada plate, gordita plate, taco plate, fajita plate, Tilapia plate. The ubiquitous New Mexico green and red chile is not bannered but you can ask for it as Latinopia did along with the huevos rancheros.
The red chile was mild but tasty, meat was tender and tasty. No alcohol is served. Very reasonably priced for family dining. This, along with Irma’s, is one of the few restaurants in Deming that is open early each day for breakfast.
