BIG CHANGES AT LATINOPIA! Dear Latinopians. By now you‘ve probably noticed that our homepage has a somewhat different look from what you’re familiar with. Well, we’re in the middle of changing the look to our homepage to make it more functional and to better showcase our new videos and our weekly and monthly bloggers. One major change we’ve already made is you can now go to any of our pages at the top menu (Art, Film/TV, Literature, etc.) and immediately see small capsule photos and description of each video to be found on that page. SO BEAR WITH US. We’re not quite finished yet but hope to have our final website look done in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, your Tia Tenopia will continue to bring you new videos and blogs like the ones this week.
Y hablando de…This week we have another video in our continuing LATINOPIA EVENTS SERIES. This time we visit with Dr. Francisco Balderrama co-author of the book Decade of Betrayal. Dr. Balderrama tells us all about the infamous 1930s DEPORTATIONS. If you don’t know anything about this awful period in American history you’re in for quite a surprise. Check it out! Also be sure to check out BRAVO ROAD WITH DON FELIPE. This week Dr. Philip de Ortego reflects on the early start of what we now know as the “Chicano Renaissance” in literature–something he had a hand in himself! Also visit ANGELA’S PHOTO OF THE WEEK. This week Angela Ortiz brings us, “Lines.”
Enjoy this week on Latinopia!
