TEA TIME, CONJUNTO AZTLÁN, SANTA & THE NSA AND MORE !
HAPPY HOLIDAYS LATINOPIANS! Tia Tenopia reporting for duty. This week we continue in our review of the best videos from the Latinopia archives. Our first video is a tender short drama written and Directed by filmmaker Luis Quintero. LA HORA DEL TE (Tea Time) tells the poignant story of a little girl who has lost her mother. Be forewarned this is a bit of a tear-jerk-er but also an uplifting film about love and family. Don’t miss it!
Our second video this week showcases the San Antonio-based music group Conjunto Aztlán as they perform an original composition “Desafinada.” This song is a call for peace that was originally written many years ago during the Viet Nam War but it applies equally to all wars currently on going in the world. Your Tia thinks it doesn’t hurt to remind us of peace to all people at this time of year.
Our regular blogger from Washington D.C., Eduardo Díaz, brings us a report on a new museum enterprise in Miami Florida, check out his blog, “Miami’s Huge Leap.” Sergio Hernández regales us with two humorous looks at Christmas, “Christmas in the Projects” and “Santa Is checking his list…” Angela Ortiz brings us another Photo of the Week, “Feels Like Fall,” and our unsettled teenage zombie, Lazaro De La Tierra, finds it’s not easy being a Chicano zombie as he finds time to mull over the future of the zombie race.
All great stuff this week on Latinopia.
Enjoy and have a Feliz Navidad!
