THIS WEEK ON LATINOPIA: RICARDO ROMO’S TEJANO REPORT ON DIANE MOLINA’S ICON AND SYMBOLS OF THE BORDERLAND, CÉSAR MARTÍNEZ ON DIANE MOLINA’S BORDERLANDS EXHIBIT, LIZ GONZALEZ’S CONFESSIONS OF A PSEUDO-CHICANA,” AND A.P. GONZALEZ’S FILM, “THE WETBACK.”
This week Ricardo Romo’s Tejano Report visits with acclaimed photographer Diane Molina and the traveling exhibit she has curated, Icons and Symbols of the Borderlands. Working with artists from the El Paso-based Juntos Art Association, Molina has brought together an impressive group of artists of the borderlands. While Ricardo Romo gives us the background on Molina and her photography, noted San Antonio artist César Martínez walks us through the exhibit as it was mounted in San Antonio’s Centro de Artes Museum. The exhibit is currently on display in Carlsbad, New Mexico to the end of 2021.
Also this week, poet and creative writing instructor Liz Gonzalez reads the story “Confessions of a Pseudo-Chicana,” from her collection, Dancing in the Santa Ana Winds.
Finally, don’t miss director A.P. Gonzalez speaking about his independent film, “The Wetback,” based on the novel The Road to Tamazunchale” by Ron Arias.
Enjoy your week on Latinopia!
