We begin this week with a reading by Texas based poet Ire’ne Lara Silva, She reads the poem, “I Remember Yesterday,” from her collection Cuicatcalli House of Song. This is a touching and profound poem worth the listening.
Also this week Ricardo Romo’s Tejano Report reviews a new one-woman show at the Ruiz Healy Gallery. The showcased artist is Eva Marengo Sanchez whose still life depictions reflects deep understanding and portrayal of the Chicano/Mexicano experience. Each of the paintings that Ricardo highlights are worth careful study. Check it out!
Mark Guerrero returns with his East Los Angeles Music Stories. This week he interviews singer and band leader Martha Quetzal of the East L.A. music group Quetzal. The group’s original song “Imaginaries,” won a Grammy in 1993.

And El Profe Quezada returns with another reflective blog on Chicano Mexicano history. This week re remembers the late borderland’s artist Jose Cisneros.
